Lyonsnitte

The Lyonsnitte is named after a long-lasting and very dramatic siege of the French city Lyon in 1793 during the French Revolution.

The cake consists of a shortcrust pastry base with crushed macaroons and raspberry jam.  Topped with hazelnuts.
